Emerald is the green to bluish green variety of beryl and belongs to the precious stone category. . Historically, the primary source of emerald was Egypt, with Cleopatra’s mines near Sikait mined as early as 500 BCE. At present times, Emerald has been primarily mined in BRAZIL and Colombia and therefore has found their place in our collection. Emerald are III type inclusion gems which means that the gem produced are bound to have some sort of inclusions within the gem. In fact it is one of quick ways to judge the authencity of an emerald since an emerald with no inclusions is said to be looked with suspicion.
